Circumferential Tummy Tuck (Abdominoplasty)

This procedure is most commonly selected after massive weight loss has produced laxity of the waist and back in addition to the laxity of the abdominal wall. It is a 6-7 hour procedure if the waist and back are combined with the front of the abdomen. Therefore, it is essential to be in good health and at a stable body weight. Good nutrition is also important.

Case 1

This 40 year old had a history of two pregnancies to term. She underwent gastric bypass 2 years prior to her circumferential abdominoplasty losing 130 pounds. Her pictures were taken 1 year after surgery. She had no postoperative complications. She has an excellent result. You will note that the tattoo of the right lower back was removed during the surgery and is not seen in the postop posterior view.
